He sent around one deep-throat porn video with the comment “this is talent.” He referred to another porn clip, allegedly featuring Miss France 2008, as a “keeper.” But best of all was the video he forwarded of a woman doing a horse. But then the Paladino e-mails take things to a whole new level. Paladino has had some trouble with racial sensitivity in the past, so learning that he’s one of those people who sends e-mails portraying Obama as an African tribesman or a seventies-era pimp is, while still no less despicable, not totally surprising. And though this is all well-worn territory by now, perhaps no leaked e-mails have been such a treasure trove of bad taste as those of Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino, which were snagged by WNY Media.

We’ve lost too many wonderful people to COVID-19 to lose more because people are being morons and are literally putting people in danger with their stupidity. While the power players in this industry will likely forgive and forget this, we cannot. I’ve seen BIPOC performers blacklisted for asking the wrong question during a rehearsal or being mislabeled as “difficult to work with”, it’s highly unlikely Osnes will suffer the same fate. Sure it won’t be on Broadway, which is requiring vaccines for all performers and audience members, but she’ll keep getting offers. I’m frustrated because her actions were just plain moronic and they reek of privilege.Īnd do you know what the sad reality is? Osnes will likely keep getting work despite this betrayal of the highest degree. But like I said, I’m not going to dig too much into that in this piece.īut beyond the anger I have over the danger Osnes could, and still might, have caused. And yes, she sides with political candidates who would love nothing more than to revoke the rights of folks that Osnes shares the stage with and those who work behind it. Yes, she’s stated she feels judged for being “so sweet and so conservative.” Yes, as of 2013, she was a member of a church that was openly anti-LGBTQ and included homosexuality in a condition group along with rape, incest, pedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia. While many are using this incident to remind everyone of Osnes’ political allegiances, I’m not going to dig too much into that. And honestly, I’m worried more performers are going to try to do the same thing she did. That level of betrayal and breach of trust is egregious. We’ve seen how quickly COVID-19 can spread among a cast and that was before the spread of the Delta variant.
Interestingly enough, I’m not as pissed off that Osnes isn’t vaccinated and seemingly believes in dumb conspiracy theories, as I am that her actions put everyone involved in potential danger. Having gotten that out of the way, let’s just get right into it. But their content should sometimes be taken with the tiniest grain of salt. Let me preface this by saying that this is being reported by the New York Post’s Page Six, which is a gossip section inside a tabloid that publishes things with the intent to get people’s blood boiling enough that they share their content on a mass level. I’m not going to recap the entire story, I’m too angry about it and you can find the whole story here. It should be noted that the Post has removed the portion of the story that describes her answers are “vague”.
Even worse, according to the column’s “inside sources”, Osnes was initially vague with her answers and only admitted her non-vax status after she was addressed by castmate Tony Yazbeck due to his concern of the safety of his children.
It has been reported by the New York Post’s Page Six that Broadway “star” Laura Osnes was fired from a one-night-only concert of Crazy for You because she has refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
